Every Second Saturday, Efrain Gutierrez Taller invites the Public to enjoy Art, Music, And Good Times. This Second Saturday the gallery presents art by Roman Artes. Music is by Skeleton Creek, Justin Vasquez and Max Gonzalez and War on Sunday. With live art done by Michael Esparza and Nico Nako. October 10, 2015 Efrain Gutierrez Taller 3403 South Flores St. San Antonio, Texas 78204 5:00pm - 12:00am CineSol Film Festival and the historic Cine El Rey Foundation present a special night of nostalgia, movie, and music. They will be screening the 1979 Chicano classic, RUN TECATO RUN, directed by Chicano film pioneer Efrain Gutierrez. After the film screening, Gutierrez will be doing a Q&A. They will also have special performance by RIO JORDAN, Steve Jordan's sons who will honor their father's contribution for scoring the music for the film by giving a LIVE musical performance following the screening. Proceeds to benefit The Historic Cine El Rey Theatre Foundation a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to "preserving the past for the future"™ & the CineSol Film Festival one of the longest running film festivals in America.

discussion with the authors and invited guests, and a Q & A period will follow. At the conclusion of the program, the authors will be available to autograph their book, priced at $20.00. The book about Company E is the HEROIC history of Mexican-American war heroes in WW II. It is a story that must be told. The book provides a unique insight to Mexican-American, Chicano soldiers in WW II. The book chronicles and profiles the courage of young Texas Chicanos from El Paso, San Antonio, Del Rio, Sonora, and other Texas towns who answered their country’s call to duty in World War II in the name of patriotism- American Patriotism! A must see, for the entire family, especially school children. Chicano Filmmaker, Efrain Gutierrez, has been invited to attend the 2015 National Cherry Festival Parade to be held July 11th at Traverse City, Michigan. The Northwest Michigan Migrant Resource Council invited Gutierrez to participate in the parade held on Saturday and the Leelanau County League of Women Voters invited Efrain Gutierrez to screen his films for the migrant community in Traverse City on Sunday, July12. Efrain Gutierrez was a migrant from San Antonio, Texas who worked picking cherries in Traverse City every summer from 1955 to 1961. Efrain Gutierrez has not visited Traverse City, Michigan since. Thursday, July 9, he will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a radio interview and a platica (conversation) at the Grand Rapids Hispanic Center. Efrain Gutierrez will also be in Auburn, Indiana on Tuesday, July 7 th and Wednesday, July 8 th for a family reunion with relatives of his cousin, Antonio Gonzalez. Gonzalez married a local girl, Margaret Louise Hogan, and stopped migrating from Texas, settled in Auburn where he later retired and passed away, 2009. This is in honor of his first movie being inducted into the National Film Registry by The Library of Congress. It is sponsored by the American GI Forum of Santa Maria and LULAC Council #3252.
